Hey tumblrs! Jenna. 22 years old. Gay. Single. I'm a college student studying nursing and working at a domestic violence shelter in Illinois. I love: skydiving, sports, working out, swimming (and anything in the water), adventures, and smart, athletic women. Currently in the process of slimming down for good. My blog: a hodgepodge of gay things, workout things, pretty girls, and things that I find funny or annoying. Take it or leave it. I'm ALWAYS here for any followers that need to talk about anything (anon or not) I love meeting people and hearing their stories. What's yours?

DISCLAIMER: I do not have any credentials for nutrition, lifting, working out, etc. If you ask my advice, know that I am giving you an answer based on a few college nutrition courses, my own personal experience, what I have read, what I have been told by my nutritionist/doctor, etc. I AM NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL ADVICE.

I have decided teaching swim lessons is one of the most awkward jobs ever. I have had more little kids accidentally pull down the top of my suit, touch my boobs, put their foot in my crotch when they’re pushing off back to the wall, and tell me private things about them or their parents than I can count.  Not to mention when you’re teaching an adult who can’t swim so you have to find ways to help them with minimal touching of their body.  I’m sorry but I think it’s an invasion of privacy to have my hand on the stomach of anyone above the age of 12.  Whatevs.  It beats the hell out of lifeguarding and two of my kids (we call them the peanuts) are literally the cutest human beings on the planet.

Swimming Appreciation Post

So I somehow haven’t swam since last like august and today i finally got back in the pool today.  It was like coming home again :) Idk what it is about water but I’m more comfortable in water than on land somehow.  Today was just about having a nice workout but not killing myself (today is a LiveFit rest day lololol). Here was my workout:

NT SPECIAL Warm-up

  • 500 free
  • 400 IM (drill for fly)
  • 300 back
  • 200 breast
  • 100 fly (drill)

Drill (free)

  • 16 x 50s (25 fast-25 easy, 25 easy-25 fast, 50 easy, 50 fast)

Sprint Set (free)

  • 10 x 50s sprint :10 rest
  • 10 x 50s sprint :05 rest

200 Free (Easy)

200 Breast (Easy)

Underwaters

  • 4 @ 1:00
  • @ :45

Cooldown

  • 400 free
  • 400 breast

definitely way easier than the sets we did in high school (30 x 100s on 1:30 lol) but a good way to get back to swimming and have a good time.  I really needed to get back in the pool :)
